He's probably the second best character of the movie IMO next to Jack, but one thing i don't get is how come he expands? was he born with it or was blessed with it by LoPan?

When Thunder was self-destructing, how come his hair messed up? it wasn't that long and was that toss salad or cole slaw he blew out of his body when he exploded? i bet he's either a vegeterian or had that for lunch. What if Thunder wore really tight cowboy boots, would it rip as well due to the pressure of his inflation? is his body made of air since air came out of his nose and ears? and anyone noticed he looked like a garbage pail kid when he was going to explode?

Thunder annoys me for alot of reasons. I think him and Rain are both completely gay, and that Lightning is the only storm that has any cool factors about him. About the exploding part. I don't really know why all of that happened, except that special effects in the 80's weren't so hot.

I think exploding salad kept more to the humour of the film, I mean it would of been a bit of a damper (or funny depending on how you look at it) if loads of blood and guts exploded out and splattered against the wall Very Happy kinda shows the fact that he's not human.

And the exploding bit, I think he just got really depressed when he saw Lo Pan dead, i mean you can see the sadness on his face, so he probably just thought life was not worth living Very Happy

when I was younger I thought all the storms would self destruct when they saw their master dead, and seeing as rain and lightning didn't the dead Lo Pan, who's to say that they couldn't explode as well? Very Happy

Thunder is the only one that can expand. If Rain or Lightning saw him dead they would most likely jump into a volcano.

Here's my take on Thunder:

He's got a lot of pent up anger, see, and he doesn't internalize - he's not afraid to let it all out. You see him bulge a little bit during the wheelchair-down-the-hallway scene, and later he gets super pissed when his master gets killed by the petulant Jack Burton and tries to take him out in his salad-filled rage explosion.

A terrific, Carpenter monster/villain.

He was a good villain. I just don't see him as one of the best.

Yeah, somehow I don't see Thunder doing very well in any 12-step anger management courses.
