I've been working on a short film, and certainly a lot of it was inspired by BTiLC, Rush Hour, and some of the other classics of my generation. It was very exciting to be working with a real fight choreographer and stuntmen. We just put a trailer up online. If you have a moment you should check it out.

A few things:

A) Welcome to the Forum! Very Happy

B) Superb trailer - it gives the viewer just a taste, and leaves them wanting more without giving away too much. (I hate trailers that show everything.)

C) Only a short? How "short" is it? (If this is mentioned on the site, forgive me- I'll check it out later when I have more time.)

D) Thank you for making an original idea, instead of a "fan film"- while those can be fun to watch, I'd prefer a movie that doesn't exist solely because of another movie. Rolling Eyes

Never mind, I found the run time on the website. Smile

The horror-western is a genre that has potential- I've only seen it done twice before- once with a straight-to-video DVD that was an unholy mess...

and the other was this 8 minute short, "Wasted West".

I forgot about Tremors- (which is surprising, since I have the first one on DVD!) I suppose I would consider a true "Western" to be set in the 1870's, with six-shooters and covered wagons...

...which reminds me- didn't they make a Tremors prequel set in those times???

Hmm... I seem to have fallen behind in keeping up with Tremors sequels... I loved the first one, but the second one was disappointing. Haven't seen the next two, though.

Speaking of the first one, I love how it applies the rule of female leads in a horror movie:

A woman in a horror movie shall always (choose one):

- Take a shower
- Do the nasty with her boyfriend
- Get completely soaked if not naked
- (in the case of Tremors) Lose her pants

Wink Gotta love it... Laughing

(just noticed this on your site:)

Director Graham Killeen has won the Shepherd Express Best Milwaukee Filmmaker award for 2006, beating out fellow nominees Howie Goldklang and Mark Borchardt.

I would imagine Howie Goldklang must have been a rough competitor, because beating Mark Borchardt in a filmmaking contest is like beating Danny DeVito in a height contest.

Congrats, anyway. Smile

Whoa, sorry I lost this thread! Thanks for the support. Tremors 4 was not exactly great... but I'm still a fan of the original.

We've had all kinds of traffic to the trailer, and we just started submitting to film festivals. I'll post back if we get accepted anywhere.

Well, about two years later I thought I'd post a link to my own movie, which hopefully will get a distribution deal soon.

http://thefedorachronicles.com/uninvited/

It's won an award at the IndieFest!

Here's a link to the IndieFest's Award of Merit page:

I know it's no BTiLC, but then again, what is? Wink
