Christine is another Carpenter movie to be a remake, has anyone else seen that news and your thoughts on it and other remakes of his movies.

They ought to make a law; no remakes of movies that came out less than 50 years ago.

I understand someone is attempting a remake of Escape from New York as well... Rolling Eyes

I heard this Christine is not supposed to be remake exactly because they want to do more into the book than the way Carpenter did the original movie.

So it's probably less of a remake and more of a "more faithful to the book" movie. They did that with The Shining some years back. I don't know how they compared, as I didn't get to see the TV version.

I haven't read the book Christine is based on, either. Rolling Eyes

I'm all for that! The original Poseidon Adventure was a lot better compared with the new Posiedon (even with Kurt Russell starring!)

Planet of the Apes is another terrible remake movie.

It's kinda hard to beat Gene Hackman. Wink

Yeah, that Apes remake blew donkey chunks. I thought some parts were okay, but for the most part I didn't care for it. It didn't help Estella Warren's career, at any rate! (Remember her?) Laughing

who? Laughing

yeah, kind of a sad blow for Mark Whalberg too. He was great in the Departed and The Italian Job (hey, good remakes!)
