Hyas there, I'm new Smile
I've just discovered this movie this morning, and I loved it! However, there're a few things that bug me a little:
The green eyes: it is said that Lo Pan had been waiting for 2000 years, I mean, green-eyed girls aren't that hard to find! In China, maybe, but not in America...
The holy man thing: it is mentionned that Miao Yin 's dad was a holy guy, though, what about Gracie? She seems to fit, while we don't even know who was her father
The tests on the girls: if I got it straight, the weird dances with the blades and the lifting are supposed to tell if they can fulfill their purpose? A few explanations wouldn't have been an excess here Confused
And who are all these girls? In the kind of prison, there're at least 8 of them, what are they doing here? Did they fail to the tests?
Maybe some of my questions don't even have answers, and it's all part of the comedy aspect...but if anyone could help, that would be awesome!
These details apart, it's probably the best movie I've seen in a long time...it got me both thrilled and laughing Very Happy

Let me see if I can answer a few of these...

First, green-eyed girls may not be too rare in America, but in order to fufill Lo Pan's needs they ALSO need to pass the test of the burning blade; apparently none in the past 2000 years have been able to do so.

Second, Gracie was picked with an ulterior motive on Pan's part; the girl must be sacrificed in the ritual- since Lo Pan had two women for the ritual, he could sacrifice Gracie and (according to Pan) live out his earthly pleasures with Mao Yin.

Third, once the burning blade rituals are done, Pan mentions they have tamed the blade- making them both suitable for his wedding. (I didn't think any more explanation was necessary.)

Fourth, all those other girls are captives in the Wing Kong's slave trade.

I hope that helps- I haven't watched it in a few months so my memory might be rusty, but any other members who read this thread are welcome to clarify matters! Cool
