I think they were driving a fire bird. Some people might call it a Trans Am. In reality they are pretty much the same car. The difference is engine size. The fire bird was the 6 cylinder and the Trans Am was the faster 8 cylinder engine. It's tough to tell on sight alone but the one in Big Trouble looks like a Trans Am. So its basically a red KITT.

No problem. Here is a picture that is almost spot on. Its an 1985 Trans Am.
