Who here thinks that we could get enough people together to start a yearly Big Trouble convention? Maybe in Chicago? or another central city, so people on the coasts don't have to fly to opposite sides of the coast? Has this ever been attempted before? I'd be willing to put a lot of time and money into getting an annual BTLC convention started. Thoughts?

I don't think the film's big enough to warrant the massive amounts of planning and organization needed for a convention.

More people have probably seen "The Big Chill" than BTLC, and you don't hear about Big Chill conventions happening.

A John Carpenter convention is another thing, though. I'm sure he's made appearances at horror or sci fi shows.

I'm certain the film isn't big enough to warrant a BIG convention. I'm basically looking for a high school gym full of nerds to talk about the film with. hehe.

Yeah, unfortunately, BTILC doesn't measure 6.9 on the Richter scale in terms of its fan base.....

Man... Being a true fan would involve having a girl with green eyes. And then, dpepending on circumstances, SACRIFICING HER TO APPEASE THE GOD OF THE EAST! Oh, Ching Dai... You who shape the heavens.....

Your best bet might be a BTLC gathering at a general purpose sci-fi / fantasy convention.

i'm all about it. i think we could get a hotel hall or something. have it over a weekend. just discuss the movie. i still honestly think we need to try a bit more to get a sequel going! i'd be in tears if i saw a trailer for a sequel!

I would show up, Its not about the amount of fans but the loyalty of them. I for one practically worship this movie. Its somewhat scary at times. However its wonderful to meet others who feel the same way.

I think BTLC has more of a small cult following, than a mass group.

At the very least, it would be cool if some fans put together a showing of BTILC on the big screen for a night or two -- That is one thing that pisses me off to no end....that I never did see it on the big screen when it was in the theaters.
