I was looking to find a picture of the hat that Jack Burton was wearing in his truck at the very beginning of the movie (might be a bit difficult due to the scene being pretty dark) and this is a really unusual one but the drinking glasses with the black design and the metal rims that milk is being drunk out of in the scene where they're eating chinese food..were they a common design found around the U.S? My grandma used to have a whole set of them but they have since gone walkabout and none are to be found. I was really keen to track down just one glass that's exactly the same

Any help with this would be great appreciated Very Happy

Holy crap, those are two different hats. Did he wear more than one hat in the movie?

Is the angle possibly obscuring the circle in the design? Shocked

Oh wait...is the text bigger in the second shot?

Those are two different hats, I am sure.

Are both those images stills from the movie? Or is one a publicity shot maybe?

They're both from www.wingkong.net. Not sure myself but perhaps asking the person who put them up? I assume they post on these boards?

Said pictures have inspired me to buy a Harley hat haha

Been a while since I looked at the film, but I thought he lost his first hat in the alleyway encounter with Lo Pan. Afterwards, it would stand to reason that he had a backup hat in his truck, or there was a Harley-Davison shop nearby. The hats aren't uncommon.

Another note to remember: the filmmakers may have meant it to be the same hat, but as several weeks (or months) could have passed between the alley sequence and the end, so when they needed the hat someone just grabbed any handy HD cap for Russell to wear.

After all, the filmmakers are only human- we can't start thinking that continuity errors are deliberate planning, otherwise we'd turn into those geeks on the Indiana Jones boards who want to know Indy's sock color. True story. Rolling Eyes

How sad is it that I now wanna watch the film to figure out the hat situation.

Looking at those shots I think the one with the shades was the end of the movie. So since he lost his hat during the adventure, it must be his backup after he retrieves his truck.

Bazook, good thinking.

Instead of banning spammers, I prefer to say that you battle the evil forces of spamming. Sounds more heroic.

Been scouring around and have found Harley Trucker hats but those are obviously just found around in the eighties haha oh man I'm getting pedantic. Some online Harley shop wanted to charge me something silly like $70 postage to Australia

I really gotta bust out my BTILC dvd to get a screen shot happening of those drinking glasses. Jeez, no idea where to start with that little collector's obsession but you know what they say first step - best step and...It's all in the reflexes Very Happy

That is too much money for a hat. I am sure you can find it for under 30 bucks. Just gotta look around. Heck, that is part of the fun. The adventure of tracking it down.

I just checked Amazon Australia and they only have one with a skull. Bummer. Thought that might be an easy fix.

Don't think I could ever find the exact one. Don't mind this one though

http://www.amazon.com/Harley-Davidson%C2%AE-Baseball-Distressed-Adjustable-99415-09VM/dp/B001D805YY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=apparel&qid=1267761697&sr=8-1

Probably be better without that 'distressed look' crap going on though. Wonder how much postage would be??

Also this is very true Very Happy
