I had to vote 80s too, since BTiLC is the greatest film of all time and could roundhouse kick all other films combined into another dimension.

But the 90s had some good ones: Resevoir Dogs, The Usual Suspects, ...

It's a tough call, but I vote for the 80's for the sheer optimistic view of it all. I like to think of it as the 70's and 90's were decades for serious films (The Godfather, The Deer Hunter, French Connection,Schindler's List, Shawshank Redemption) that stand on either side of the "fun" decade.

yeah you're right I think that's why the 80s was so good for films, a lot of them were just a good laugh and nothing more, no seriousness, no morals. Plus not a lot of them got over 2 hours, nowadays it seems like the longer the film the better!

Empire Strikes Back was in 1979? I could've sworn it was 1980. Wasn't it every 3 years??? Confused

I had to do 80's.... Godfather came out 1973 and that's an excellent film, but then Scarface, Shawshank, BTiLC all came out in the 80's... Then there's my favortie film of all time, 'A Few Good Men'.. Which is a 1992 film... Hard choice..
